Manitou introduces two new compact telehandlers in a new series: the ULM-412 and the ULM-415. ULM stands for Ultra Light Manitou. The ULM-412 has a lifting capacity of 1250 kg. One of the most important features of the machines is their low weight. Depending on the version and options, this is between 2550 and 2750 kg for the ULM-412. This makes it possible to transport the telehandler on a trailer.
The ULM telehandlers are built on a new chassis, with a smaller cabin and a lighter engine. This has enabled Manitou to make the ULM telehandlers on average about 1500 kg lighter than the MT-420. Depending on the version, the ULM telehandlers weigh between 2550 and 2900 kg. This makes it possible to transport the machine on a trailer with a permitted total weight of 3500 kg.
The ULM telehandlers offer a maximum lift height of 4.3 meters using a two-stage telescopic mast. Under the hood Manitou has again opted for a Yanmar engine. In this case a three-cylinder engine with a power of 35 hp (25.7 kW). This engine is coupled to a hydrostatic transmission.
Like all telehandlers in the MLT series, the ULM is also equipped with the JSM Joystick for operating the hydraulic functions. The joystick is mounted on the armrest that moves with the driver’s seat.
New in Manitou’s telehandler range is that the ULM can be equipped with different quick-change coupling systems for the attachments. Namely the Euro-, 4-point and Skidsteer coupling. A series of 20 different attachments is developed specifically for use on ULM telehandlers for a wide range of applications.
